Kids & Hot Cars: Preventing Tragedies

Automobile Industries and and advocacy groups are finding ways to prevent kids from being left in cars.

(NBC News) As the summer officially kicks off and the temperature rises, more and more are becoming concerned about children being locked inside of cars.

A total of four children have died in the past two weeks.

The car industry is trying to help the situation. The new General Motors 2017 Acadia SUV is equipped with Rear Seat reminder.

Amber Andreasen from KidsandCars.org is looking for auto industries to follow in the same footsteps as General Motors.

“We want to challenge all of the automakers to include a reminder and some type of technology to prevent children from being left in the backseat”, said Andreasen.
