Armed suspect arrested for attempting to rob a North Adams flower shop

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in North Adams have arrested a man who allegedly attempted to rob the Quadlands Flowers & Gifts shop Monday morning.

According to the North Adams Police Facebook page, around 9:21 a.m. Monday, the suspect walked into the flower shop and showed the employees a handgun that was tucked into his waistband.

The employees didn’t give the suspect any money, and no one was hurt during the attempted robbery, police said.

North Adams police were able to identify and locate the alleged suspect, David Taylor, in an apartment on Bracewell Ave in North Adams. Taylor was wearing clothing matching the clothing worn by the suspect. In the apartment, North Adams police found a pellet gun that matched the description of the handgun used during the armed robbery.

Taylor is being charged with assault with intent to rob a person over 60 years of age while armed with a firearm and firearm possession while committing a felony.
