Dunkin Donuts donates $24k to Shriners Hospital

Funds to pay for new radiation equipment for hospital

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A major donation Thursday to Shriners Hospital for Children Springfield.

Western Massachusetts Dunkin Donuts franchisees presented the hospital with a check for more than $24,000 Thursday afternoon.

The money was raised during Ice Coffee Day on May 25th.  Medium iced coffees were sold for 99 cents.  50 cents from every coffee sold was donated to the hospital.

The donation will go towards the hospitals efforts to pay for ultra-low dose radiation imaging equipment.  The technology greatly reduces the amount of radiation exposed to the child.

The Iced Coffee donation fundraiser is an annual event that has raised more than $125,000 since it began.
