Body of man found in Connecticut River identified

GILL, Mass. (WWLP) – The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office has released the identity of a man whose body was found in the Connecticut River near Gill earlier this month.

Mary Carey, spokesperson for the DA’s office, told 22News that the man has been identified as Greenfield resident John Bean.

On June 7, Gill Police Chief David Hastings told 22News Bean’s body was found not far from the French King Bridge by members of the Turners Falls Fire Department at 8:12 that morning. Gill firefighters were also on the river in an effort to recover the body.
