BOSTON (AP) — A delegation of Massachusetts government officials and business leaders are headed to Israel.
The group is scheduled to arrive Friday in Tel Aviv and attend an international cybersecurity conference. State officials say a number of Massachusetts cybersecurity companies have ties to Israel.
Several members of Republican Gov. Charlie Baker’s administration will be part of the delegation, including officials from agencies involved in economic development and homeland security.
Health Connector executive director Louis Gutierrez and MassIT executive director Mark Nunnelly will also attend.
The group plans a side trip to MassChallenge Israel, a Boston-based business accelerator that launched a Jerusalem program in January.
A report released by the New England-Israel Business Council last week said Israeli-founded companies in Massachusetts employed nearly 9,000 workers and had $9.3 billion in revenue in 2015.
