NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of people will spend the day biking, walking, and running through Amherst to raise money for children battling cancer.
A fundraiser called Katelynn’s Ride is being held at Hampshire College on Saturday.
It’s been held every year since 2001, when an 11-year-old named Katelynn Battista, lost her battle to cancer.
Participants choose from a number of non-competitive races, including a 10k fun run, a 5k walk, and a 100-mile bike ride.
All of the money raised goes toward the Jimmy Fund and Baystate Medical Center’s Sadowsky Center for Children, which means it stays right here in Massachusetts.
