SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One man was shot in Springfield’s Lower Forest Park neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News just before 2:30PM, gunshots were fired near 24 Earl Street.

Police got there and found a 28 year old victim with a gunshot wound in his lower back. The victim is in good condition and is expected to fully recover, but police told 22News he is not cooperating with the investigation to find the shooter.

Sgt. Delaney said witnesses reported a person running down Earl Street. The suspect is possibly a white man. No other description is available.
