Pedestrian hit by car in downtown Springfield

Police said when they got to Worthington Street they found a person who had been hit by a vehicle.


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One person was hurt just after midnight Wednesday after being struck by a car in downtown Springfield.

Springfield Police Sergeant Donald Denault told 22News police and ambulance crews were called to the area of 195 Worthington Street around 12:11 a.m., where they found a person had been hit by a vehicle.

Sgt. Denault said the injured victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center. He could not give their condition at this time.

Worthington Street has since fully reopened.

The Springfield Traffic Bureau will continue to investigate.
