SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of residents in Springfield were left without power, Wednesday night, after another day of wind, rain, and the threat for possible thunderstorms.
According to the Eversource Outage Map, more than 260 households lost power in Springfield’s Forest Park section. Just after 9:00 p.m., that number was more than 700.
Springfield Police Lt. Phillip Tarpey told 22News that Eversource said that all the power would be restored by 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, there were still some areas without power around 11:00 p.m. Lt. Tarpey also said a tree came down on Continental Street, which is off Sumner Avenue.
There were also reports of outages in Montague, Sunderland, Cummington and Otis.
It wasn’t confirmed that wind was the reason for the power outage, but the 22News Storm Team was tracking strong wind throughout Wednesday night.
