Apartment complex in Holyoke being renovated by HAP Housing

HAP Housing hopes to have the project done by the end of 2018

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – 3 vacant buildings in Holyoke are being renovated as low income housing for 47 families. HAP Housing is developing a complex known as Library Commons.

holyokehapThe buildings will be located at Chestnut, Essex and Elm streets, and house 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms apartments. 80% of those apartments will be rented to low income families.

Peter Serafino of HAP Housing told 22News, “Since it’s located near the beautiful Holyoke Public Library and its proximity to High Street and its proximity to the Innovation District in Holyoke, we think it will add a variety of housing options.”

The housing unit will also provide career and health services on site, as well as an art gallery. HAP Housing hopes to have the project completed by the end of 2018
