SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield City Council voted to approve Mayor Domenic Sarno’s fiscal 2017 budget.

The City Council voted 11 to 2 to approve the mayor’s $616-million budget. Councilors were supposed to vote last month, but canceled the meeting.

City Councilor Tim Allen said they had reservations about funding for city pensions; “I just felt we should all take a closer look at it since the budget now had bigger numbers.”

The council approved the budget and didn’t make any cuts. Click Here to review the budget.
