Joseph Goguen currently at Baystate Medical Center for leg injury

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A 21 year-old man is charged with drunk driving after crashing his motorcycle in Chicopee Sunday night. The rider, Joseph Goguen of Chicopee, remains in Baystate Medical Center, where he is recovering from a serious leg injury.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that police received several calls about a motorcycle crash at Sheridan and Schley Streets at around 10:40 P.M. When police got there, they found Goguen about 20 feet away from his motorcycle. Wilk says investigators believe Goguen had been riding from Schley Street and skidded across two lanes of Sheridan Street, then crashed into a curb and a light pole.

Goguen is being charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He will be summonsed to Chicopee District Court.
