CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A young man accused of pointing a gun at Holyoke police officers over the weekend was out on $100 bail for a drug and weapons case out of Chicopee.
The 22News I-Team reviewed documents at Chicopee District Court, which show that Hector Guzman was arrested May 25 in Chicopee for heroin distribution, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and possession of a taser. He was arraigned the following day, and Judge Bethzaida Sanabria-Vega granted him $100 bail.
Saturday night, Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert says that officers had to draw their weapons on Guzman, who had pointed a 9mm handgun at them at a housing project on Leary Drive. Guzman ultimately dropped the gun and ran away, but was caught a short time later by police.
Albert says that Guzman is a “known member” of the Bloods gang in Holyoke.
Guzman is now being held without the right to bail pending a dangerousness hearing in Holyoke District Court on Friday.
