EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Easthampton Police Chief Bruce McMahon announced on Monday that he is retiring after 37 years with the department.
Chief McMahon started his career as a police officer back in 1979. He’s served as a special officer, patrolman, sergeant, captain and most recently as chief for the past 11 years.
In a statement sent to 22News, Chief McMahon said, “The Easthampton Police Department is a special place with incredibly talented officers. I am grateful to have been a part of it and proud to have served with all of the officers both past and present. I am also proud of the many things we have achieved together.”
His last shift will be Thursday October 27th. He said he looks forward to “living at a more relaxed pace.”
