Springfield Police honor the memory of a fallen officer

Thousands of law enforcement officers came to Springfield from across the country to pay their respects

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Four years ago Saturday, Springfield Police Officer Kevin Ambrose was killed in the line of duty.

Saturday, the Springfield Police Department honored the memory of Officer Ambrose on their social media page and said they, “think of him every day.”

Officer Ambrose was killed after being shot by a domestic disturbance suspect at the Lawton Arms Apartments. In the days that followed, Officer Ambrose was honored for his 36 years of service.

Thousands of law enforcement officers came to Springfield from across the country to pay their respects. Officer Ambrose’s name is now on the fallen police officer monuments in Boston and Washington, D.C.
