PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health is warning residents about a recall involving SunOpta, Cliff Bar, General Mills’ Nature Valley, and Stop and Shop products, all of which contain sunflower kernels.

According to the RIDOH, the products containing sunflower kernels could potentially be contaminated with listeria. The recalled products include energy bars, protein bars, trail mix bars, granola bars and sunflower kernels.

The SunOpta recall is an expansion of a previous recall, which has prompted companies that use SunOpta sunflower kernels, such as Cliff Bar, General Mills, and Stop and Shop, to initiate their own recalls.

The specific products being recalled can be identified by their UPC codes and best-by dates.
