Ludlow hosts Relay for Life

Participants spent hours raising money by way of walking the Ludlow High School track

LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – This is the season for Western Massachusetts Relay for Life, when Cancer survivors and their caregivers support fundraiser to further Cancer research.

Saturday was Ludlow’s turn to honor its survivors and raise money for the American cancer society. Participants spent hours raising money by way of walking the Ludlow High School track.

Sheila Dupre, of East Longmeadow, is a cancer survivor. She explained the value of these relay for life events, “It really provides an overall understanding as to the impact that Cancer has, not only on the individual undergoing the treatments but the families and the community it also provides money towards the research to someday eliminate this awful disease.”

The Quahog Valley will host a relay for life Friday evening at the Belchertown High School track. Sy Becker will represent 22News as MC for the event.
