The 18-year-old student disappeared in South Hadley in January. Her body was discovered 3 months later, in the Connecticut River in Agawam, in April.

Brianna’s teacher, Paula Fahey, told 22News this was a difficult day; “When you see a student like Brianna, who is so extremely talented and gifted, pass from this world, you stop and take a step back and wonder, what did you miss?”

In April, a relative told 22News a cousin would accept Brianna’s diploma at graduation.

Since Brianna’s body was found in Agawam, the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office is involved. The cause of Brianna’s death is still under investigation.
