(NBC News) Representatives of airports from around the country vented their frustration with long lines TSA security lines Tuesday during testimony on Capitol Hill.
Long lines have become the new normal, but last week’s meltdown in Chicago has awmakers demanding action.
The people who run the airports are caught in the middle between an undermanned TSA a fuming flying public.
American Airlines says 70,000 of its passengers and 40,000 bags missed flights in the past year.
“We need a partner in TSA that will consider innovative ideas to mitigate wait times immediately and in the long run,” American’s Kerry Philipovitch testified.
The head of the TSA says long lines will be inevitable this summer, despite improvements.
