PEBL Better Bike featured at Springfield environmental fair

It's a special bike with an electric motor, or you can use the pedals.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The 8th Annual Green Expo Environmental Fair, which was held Thursday at Tower Square in Springfield, featured 16 vendors from Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Everything from a variety of organic foods to information on solar power was available; but one of the highlights of the fair was the PEBL Better Bike.

Kevin Murray of Leverett told 22News, “You use a combination of the electric power with your pedal power so you can pedal as much or as little as you like. You can literally use the electric motor, or if you want to do a lot of pedaling, you use a lot less electric power.”

Murray and his son developed the electrical assist bike. It can be used year round and can reach a top speed of 20mph. It seats two adults and has a hemp and soy composite body.
