Construction started on Westfield’s state of the art Transit Pavilion

People will be able to speak to customer service through Skype

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – PVTA held a groundbreaking ceremony in Westfield on Tuesday for their new Transit Pavilion.

PVTA will have a state of the art facility where bus passengers can wait for a bus, buy a smart card and even talk to a customer service agent on Skype. The building will be the first to go up as part of Westfield’s new redevelopment plan.

PVTA Administrator Mary MacInnes told 22News that the groundbreaking has been a long time coming. She said, “We cut the funding for this project many, many years ago and there have been a lot of twists and turns with this project, and that is why personally I am glad were here today breaking ground.”

MacInnes hopes the new facility will attract both seniors and college students as the bus will make stops at Westfield State University.
