CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Chicopee mother who lost her son to a drug overdose, is raising money to combat addiction.
Dori Wotus lost her 23-year old son to a heroin overdose. She is now working to bring awareness about the dangers of drugs.I want first of all to bring the awareness to the situation, it’s just not going away. I mean I read an article, 55 deaths in the city of Chicopee since January,” said Wotus.
Wotus hopes to help other families fighting drug addiction. She hopes her efforts will help reduce the number of people addicted to opioids.
All the proceeds from the event will go towards opening rehab centers in western Massachusetts.
