Western Massachusetts fund raisers to assist important causes come in many forms.

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts fund raisers to assist important causes come in many forms.

On Saturday, the Latin American Motorcycle association held a pool tournament at Ivory Billiards in Holyoke to raise money for the Massachusetts chapter of the Alzheimer’s association.

One club member knows the impact of Alzheimer’s in her family. “My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She’s been in bed for four. And she’s in the very last stage of it,” said Maria Yolanda Martinez of Springfield.

The Alzheimer’s association of Massachusetts and New Hampshire estimates there are more than 140,000 men and women who suffer from the disease in the two state region.
