SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts may soon have a say in Boston area business decisions, which could bring more jobs to the Springfield area.
Council President Richard Sullivan, a former Westfield mayor, told 22News western Mass. provides some attractive choices for growing businesses. He said, “We’re different; we have a lower cost of living, we have a lower cost of labor, we have a lower cost of energy, and we have centers of excellence in the region.”
Sullivan said we have to put a stop to Massachusetts having two separate economies; one economy for the Boston area, and the other, a less robust economy, for western Mass.
