SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Waiting to see the doctor at Baystate Medical Center’s Pediatric clinic just became more welcoming.
Springfield State Representative Ben Swan read to the young patients along with students from the Springfield head start program.
Parents feel spending the time this way, waiting to see the doctor, has a more positive impact on their kids.
Shaunta McCullough of Springfield told 22News, “It’s just a fun activity for them to do while learning, also they give them a book when they leave. Reading is always good no matter where you are.”
Parents also feel the reading problems help reduce the tension their children might have waiting to see a Doctor.
