Chicopee man faces robbery charges in Connecticut

Jeffrey Nentwig pleaded guilty to robbing 5 Chicopee stores

EAST WINDSOR, Ct. (WWLP) – A man from Chicopee, currently serving 7 years in a Massachusetts prison, was taken to Connecticut Tuesday morning to face larceny charges.

According to the East Windsor Police Facebook page, 40-year-old Jeffrey Nentwig was formally arrested at Enfield Superior Court on Tuesday and charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Larceny 4th Degree.

Nentwig is accused of robbing the Sofia’s Package Store in East Windsor on January 30, 2014. Police said he robbed the clerk at gun point before running away with the cash.

22News first reported about Nentwig when he was arrested at his Memorial Drive trailer home for robbing 5 Chicopee stories in January of 2014. He pleaded guilty in September of 2015 to robbing the stores masked and 9 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon for showing a BB gun to store clerks.

Police said Nentwig was not only taken to Connecticut to face the East Windsor charges, but also robbery charges in Enfield and Suffield. Then he will return to Massachusetts to serve his 7 year sentence.
