SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – As it gets warmer outdoors, keep your eyes out for wildlife. Mike Roy sent 22News video through our report-it feature of a black bear in South Hadley.
In the video you can see the black bear exploring a garden in a yard. If you encounter a bear, the National Park Service says don’t run away or approach the bear. Just slowly back away.
However, if the bear spots you, and starts to follow or chase you, the NPS says do not run. Instead yell at the bear, and try to make yourself look at big as possible to scare it off.
