PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – A two car accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Palmer kept westbound traffic at a standstill for more than an hour and a half this afternoon, before the wreckage could be cleared from the two lanes.
State Police Sgt. McNeil from the Charlton barracks told 22News, either the driver or a passenger in one of the cars was thrown out of the car by the force of Impact.
The injured person was taken by Helicopter to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where they’re currently being treated.
The accident occurred two miles west of the Turnpike exit eight, the Palmer exit. It wasn’t immediately known just how the two cars heading in the same direction got into the accident.
