WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – American Cancer Society’s relay for life held an event in Wilbraham Saturday to spread the awareness for people fighting cancer.
Hundreds participated in Saturday’s event at Minnechug Regional High School. Cancer Survivors wearing purple took a lap around the track at Minnechaug Regional High School.
One survivor told 22News about how he was able to push through the difficult time.
Matthew Dion, Chairman of 2016 Relay for Life said, “My mom got me through a lot of it because she was just hanging in the hospital with me. There were a few bumpy spots but then we pulled through.”
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is the world’s largest fundraising event to end cancer. 22News stormteam meteorologist Jennifer Pagliei was the Emcee of Saturday’s Relay for Life.
