Springfield celebrates 30th annual World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast

Volunteers are expected to make 500 gallons of pancake batter

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Thousands of people ate their breakfast in downtown Springfield Saturday for the 30th annual World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast on Saturday.

pancakesDozens of volunteers were out bright and early, preparing 500 gallons of pancake batter and setting up tents, tables, and chairs.

This breakfast has been happening for the past 30 years, and is known to attract thousands of people to the city.

Every year, the event draws thousands of people to Main Street in Springfield, where they enjoy pancakes, bacon, juice, and coffee.

This year also offered families plenty of entertainment including a dunk tank, tag sale, horse-drawn wagon, and a mini-train for the kids.


Part of downtown Springfield is closed for this breakfast. Main Street will be closed from State Street to Bridge Street until 3 PM Saturday.

Boland Way to Harrison Avenue and Court Street to Falcon Way will be open for drivers.
