Another sinkhole in Springfield, but not as big

Traffic cones were placed around the sinkhole

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A small sinkhole opened up on Cooper Street in Springfield early Monday night. It wasn’t as big as the one in downtown Springfield; only about a foot wide.

The road wasn’t closed down, but the hole hasn’t been patched up yet. There’s a couple traffic cones around it to ensure drivers don’t hit it.

Springfield Police Lt. Brian Keenan said it’ll likely be patched up on Tuesday.

Water main work done, but Main Street may remain closed for days
