CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A 10 year-old boy from Chicopee has died from his injuries after being struck by a car Friday night.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that Raiden Colon was hit by the Honda sedan on Chicopee Street (Route 116) near Old Field Road at around 8:30 that night.

The police department’s reconstruction team is still looking into what led to the accident. Additional details are not being released at this time.

“We wish to extend our condolences to his family and friends,” Wilk wrote on the department’s official Facebook page. “Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Wilk said that school resource officers have been notified of Colon’s death, and crisis teams have been called to the school he attended.
