WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts continues to deal with cool and wet conditions, and this dreary weather is having an effect on some businesses that rely on sunshine.

If you are a golfer, this weather might be keeping you from getting out on the course.

While most of Thursday was dry, the threat of rain kept a lot of golfers away. Ted Perez of East Mountain Country Club in Westfield says it has certainly affected his business.

“It was a great start to the year. A rainy day we expect here and there, but it’s been raining since Sunday and the forecast looks like it’s going to rain to this coming Sunday, so yeah a full seven or eight days of rain is never going to help our business, that’s for sure,” Perez said.

He told 22News that there have still been a few players coming out, and some leagues have continued play, despite the weather.
