Police: Unidentified woman used counterfeit money at Springfield gas station

She used a counterfeit $50 bill at the Pride Gas Station store on West Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Police Department’s Major Crime Unit needs the public’s assistance in identifying a woman passing counterfeit $50 bills.

Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that a woman in her 20’s entered the Pride Gas Station store at 77 West Street on April 18th at 7:00 a.m. and purchased an item for $3.49. She gave the clerk a counterfeit $50 bill and received her change and walked out.

The Major Crime Unit is requesting the assistance of the press and public in identifying the suspect.
