Graduation held for members of a “new life” rehab program

The Springfield Rescue Mission helps homeless men back on their feet

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A very special graduation ceremony Tuesday night at the Pioneer Valley Christian Academy.

5 men graduated from the Springfield Rescue Mission’s Men’s New Life Rehabilitation Program. Men’s New Life helps men who are homeless due to addiction or other issues, by providing bible-based classes and counseling so they can develop long-range plans.

22News spoke to one graduate who said this program changed his life. “Life is hard. You know you’ve got to take a chance and this is an opportunity where you can grow,” said Danny Renta. “It’s just amazing. It’s an honor just to be here.”

The Springfield Rescue Mission is a tax-exempt, non-profit, but theywere just forced to pay more than $100,000 in property taxes. To read this controversial story, Click Here.
