UMass Amherst police arrest two of three suspects in multiple burglary case

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – UMass Amherst Police have arrested two men suspected of attempted burglary in multiple rooms on campus.

Police were called to Washington Hall around 4:44 AM Sunday for reports of three masked men attempting to enter multiple rooms on multiple floors in the hall.

Officers arrested two of the suspects as they were leaving a room. The third suspect fled. Police have not released the identities any of the suspects.

The third suspect is described as a white male with a thin build and dark hair, who was wearing a grey and blue hooded sweatshirt at the time.

The two arrested suspects were armed with knives.

No one was injured.
