Fourth annual walk for epilepsy held at Springfield’s Forest Park

Hundreds took part in the fourth annual Springfield to help the epilepsy foundation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – An Inspiration on Saturday for the many young people afflicted with epilepsy here in Western Massachusetts

22News reporter Tamara Sacharczyk was master of ceremonies for the fourth annual Walk for Epilepsy at Springfield’s Forest Park.

Tammy herself knows what it’s like to have Epilepsy and how it’s inspired her to help others. “I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15 years old. and ever since then I’ve made it my mission to try to raise awareness for the condition,” said Sacharczyk.

Jordan Franz of Chicopee told 22News “When I was 8, I had a grand mal seizure, and I was put into a medically-induced coma for 11 days, and I developed Epilepsy, so I have Epilepsy”

Hundreds took part in the fourth annual Springfield to help the epilepsy foundation of New England. Along the walk through the park, those who have epilepsy arm in arm with their loved ones.
