HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Pioneer Valley Chambers of Commerce focused on summer tourism Friday. The Springfield, Holyoke and Easthampton chambers of commerce conferred Friday afternoon at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
They heard an MGM Springfield casino progress report. As well as an update on Holyoke’s canal walk tourist potential this summer. Easthampton is also looking forward to attracting more out of towners.
Maureen Belliveau, Executive Director of Easthampton chamber of commerce said, “Last summer as a matter of fact we had the pom-pom promenade around Nashowanack Pond. Which is a huge draw for us. There’ not a lot of communities that have water features right in the middle.”
State legislators attending the tourism luncheon made it clear they’ll try to help secure the funding for programs designed to quicken the influx of tourist this summer.
