DIY pottery pincushion

CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Make your own pincushion out of an old piece of pottery!  Marjory Zaik, Owner of Knack: The Art of Clever Reuse in Easthampton showed us how to make them.

Reclaimed pottery pincushion

Materials:
small piece of pottery
metal dish scrubber or steel wool for stuffing
piece of scrap fabric for covering
scissors
clear-drying craft glue

Instructions:
Cut the fabric to fit the pottery piece with some extra to tuck in. Fill the pottery piece with the scrubber. Line the inner rim of the pottery with glue. Fit the fabric into the pottery, shaping it around the scrubber and pressing it into the line of glue. Allow drying time before using.
