Man facing an assault charge after Pittsfield stabbing

Gonzalez-Castillo was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Pittsfield Police arrested a 22-year-old man late Wednesday night, who had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a stabbing on Linden Street.

According to Pittsfield Police Capt. David Granger, the warrant issued for Selvin Orlando Gonzalez-Castillo was for one count of Armed Assault with Intent to Murder.

The stabbing occurred on Saturday, April 23rd. When 22News first reported on this case, the stabbing victim, a 29-year-old Pittsfield man, was rushed to Berkshire Medical Center. Police said he needed emergency surgery, but expected to survive.

Capt. Granger said Gonzalez-Castillo was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Central Berkshire District Court.
