Dress for Success celebrates women turning their lives around

The organization helps to teach women job skills

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – 11 women strutted their stuff down the runway at the Big E Thursday night as part of the Dress for Success “Common Threads” Fashion Show.

These are single mothers, ex-convicts, and women in need. “Dress for Success” offers them free work clothing, donated by others, to instill confidence as they step forward into the workforce.

Kristyn McLaughlin of East Longmeadow told 22News, “I had this suit, and I had my faith, and I blew that job right out of the water. I am working there and it’s going very, very well.”

22News reporter Kait Walsh is a long-time volunteer who emceed Thursday’s event. Dress for Success also helps to teach women job skills.
