Meet Linus!  He’s a fine young dog who came all the way from a shelter in Texas to find a new home! He would be best suited for an adults-only home with no cats.  If you already have a dog, please bring them with you to meet Linus at Dakin in Springfield before the adoption is finalized.  Linus is house trained and loves to go for runs and hikes.  He’s very energetic, loving and has a sweet demeanor.  Looking for an outdoor adventures buddy this spring?  Here he is!

Community Cats – During the month of April, Dakin Humane Society will be offering a limited number of free spay/neuter surgeries for feral (stray, not owned) cats, thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities.  If there are some stray cats near your home or workplace and you can humanely trap them, bring them in to Dakin’s Clinic in Springfield.  We’ll perform the surgery, then you can release them into their colonies the next day.  If you want to learn how to humanely trap feral cats and be part of the growing TNR (trap/neuter/return) movement to prevent animal homelessness, Dakin has free monthly workshops that teach you how!  Come to our next one on Saturday, May 7 at 1pm at the Dakin Adoption & Education Center in Springfield.  No advance registration needed…just join us!
