CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Bob, an 11-year-old male Rottweiler, is looking for a loving home. Lee Chambers from Dakin Humane Society tells us about Bob and other events going on at Dakin.
Ever heard of a gentle giant? Well now you have…that’s Bob! Don’t let his size fool you, he’s a real sweetheart and an easygoing dog. Bob is in the senior years of his life, so his favorite things to do will be to warm a couch with you and watch some TV, or take a leisurely walk. Older kids are the best bet for him (10 years old and up), and they should meet him first. Bob should be your one and only pet, he doesn’t get along with cats and he’s too much for other dogs. Come meet this lovable lug at Dakin’s Springfield Adoption Center.
Valley Gives – Dakin is gearing up for Valley Gives, which happens May 3, and we’re collecting the silliest photos of your pets so we can put together some really fun photo collections for our Facebook page. If you have some photos to submit, let’s see ’em! Please email to firstname.lastname@example.org and watch our Facebook page during the last week of April to see if your pet is in the lineup!
Other ways to give – In addition to donating to Dakin on Valley Gives Day, we happily welcome other donations 365 days a year, including:
-Used sheets, blankets, and towels that we can use for animal cages
-Gently used pet supplies including crates, leashes, collars, coats, and toys
-Candles, housewares, dishes, toys, and games that can be donated to our Diamonds in the Ruff Thrift Shoppe. Money generated from their sale goes to Dakin
-Children’s books that feature animal characters for this summer’s Animal Adventures
