Mass. Senate passes bill for road repairs

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – On Wednesday the Massachusetts Senate approved a bill that needs Governor Baker’s approval that will bring money to Western Massachusetts to fix roads and bridges.

The bill would bring in funding throughout the state’s chapter 90 program, which provides reimbursement to cities and towns for road and bridge repairs.

Here are the amounts local communities would get if Governor Baker signs the bill:

  • Agawam– $814,318
  • Chicopee– $1.201,732
  • Easthampton– $488,005
  • Granville– $267,573
  • Holyoke– $1,052,501
  • Montgomery– $126,076
  • Russell– $102,653
  • Southampton– $324,665
  • Southwick– $360,440
  • Springfield– $ 3,643,948
  • Tolland– $162,448
  • Westfield– $1,223,278

In total more than $6 million of the statewide $200 million would come to Western Massachusetts.
