CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Governor Charlie Baker signed off on $200 million in funding Thursday for road and bridge repairs throughout the Commonwealth.
The money comes from Chapter 90 funding, which is essentially taxpayer dollars that get reimbursed back into cities and towns. The money can only be used road-related construction projects.
To determine how much money a city or town gets, the state looks at population, employment numbers and road miles. Springfield will receive $3,643,948; Northampton will receive $1,016,333; and Greenfield will receive $634,707.
