WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Most of western Massachusetts woke up to a winter wonderful this morning. 22News found out how people felt about this last minute winter appearance. (Snowfall totals around western Massachusetts can be found here. )
Just like that western Massachusetts went from 50s to 30s in a blink of an eye.
Bringing along snow Sunday morning and whipping winds throughout the day, and making “feel” like temperatures even colder, and ripping spring lovers hearts.
Morgan Suddenth. from Westfield, told 22News, “I’m really surprised actually its April I was ready for 60 degree weather some sunshine maybe a walk in Stanley Park now I’m out here in my coat and hat.”
To put it plain and simple, western Massachusetts has been nothing but spoiled. Western Massachusetts has been feeling those spring temperatures a little earlier than expected but the first official full weekend of April western Massachusetts saw snow.
Snowfall totals ran anywhere from a dusting that was melted by the afternoon to around 6 inches like in Monson.
When asked what he thinks about when he hears ‘April’ Albert Faval from Bridgewater told 22News, “Not snow, not snow normally I think sunny and just starting to be 60.”
Our hearts are telling us spring but for April snow is not out of the norm. Average snowfall for western Massachusetts is about two inches of snow, which we could possible exceed, don’t put away that shovel yet, a chance for snow is on the way for Monday.
