Fallen tree landed on top of vehicle on Route 20 in Lee

Three cars had to be towed away

LEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Sunday’s strong winds can be blamed for two people who ended up in the hospital in Lee.

State Police Sgt. Sean Carroll of the Lee barracks told 22News a large tree fell across Route 20 near the Black Swan Inn, and landed on top of a vehicle.

The tree also brought down power lines and two other vehicles driving by at the time also crashed. Two people were taken to Berkshire Medical Center. Its not clear how badly they were hurt. Three cars had to be towed away. That section of Route 20 was closed for about an hour.

More than 200 Eversource customers were without power this afternoon in the town of Lee.
