Couple homeless after house fire in Adams

High Street and Elm Street had to be closed

ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – A husband and wife are without a place to call home Sunday night after a fire destroyed their Berkshire County home.

Adams Police Officer Michael Wandrie told 22News no one was hurt, but the couple will not be able to stay in their badly damaged home. The fire, at 13 High Street, started at 11 o’clock Sunday morning.

Officer Wandrie told 22News the Red Cross has been called to help the couple with basic needs. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is trying to figure out what started the fire.

High Street and Elm Street had to be closed while firefighters worked to put out the flames.
