(CW) – It looks like Rip Hunter has gotten himself into no good back in the 1800s. We look into the rest of the season hits multiple episodes coming up. Let’s take a look at this recent video posted by the CW!
In a western scenario, Rip Hunter is in the midst of a good ole’ fashion pistol duel with an unknown man. Hawkgirl, Martin Stein and White Canary are seen with him as well. Let’s look at the description of this episode:
“When the team needs a place to hide out, Rip (Arthur Darvill) sets a course for the Old West. Upon arrival, they start a fight with a gang of outlaws, putting the small town in jeopardy. Luckily, an old friend of Rip’s, Jonah Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech), steps in to save them.”
We can make an educated guess that this unknown man is just an outlaw picking a fight with the team. How will this get them involved with Jonah Hex?
It’s beginning to look impossible to stop the future from being attacked by Vandal Savage. In the teaser video, Rip Hunter says, “We have no choice but to stop Savage in 2147 or die trying.” Savage is shown in the video with an army of men in the future. Savage mentions it is the “final battle.” Will everything the team does in the West or in the 50s affect the future Savage or will he still be strong as ever?
Matt Nable returns to The CW again as Ra’s al Ghul. The scenes with him are in the 50s as he is dead in 2016 due to Oliver Queen killing him and becoming Ra’s al Ghul (but giving it to Malcolm Merlin instead). As the description of the next episode says:
“Ray (Brandon Routh), Sara (Caity Lotz) and Kendra (Ciara Renée) are shocked after they watch the Waverider fly off without them, leaving them stranded in the ‘50s. After waiting months for their teammates to come back, the three realize they must move on with their lives. Ray and Kendra bond as a couple but Sara decides to return to the League of Assassins and Ra’s al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable).”
We see a young Nyssa training with her father and now Sara Lance. Will Sara learn anything new from a younger version of Ra’s al Ghul? It looks like Kendra gets some training in as well in the episode.
We finally get a look at Jonah Hex. Jonah is known as a very deadly man. He is a bounty hunter who, even though kills a lot of people, keeps his victims to ones that deserved to be punished. He typically does not attack innocent people. Will this be the same Jonah hex we see in Legends of Tomorrow? Jonah was branded with the Mark of the Demon on his face by the chieftain of a local tribe after breaking rules of combat.
Rip Hunter brings the team to a new year where he tells the team they are to take out a powerful ally to Savage. However, that powerful ally in this year is a 14-year-old boy. Will the team end up killing the child? The team is likely to have split opinions on the idea. Will they figure out another way to deal with the boy? Here is the description of that episode:
“Rip (Arthur Darvill) tells the team they are headed to the future to take out a powerful ally that Savage (guest star Casper Crump) needs in order to conquer the world. However, when Rip reveals the ally is a 14 year-old boy (guest star Cory Gruter-Andrew) who will one day grow into an evil dictator, the team is split about the morality of killing a child, even if it does save the world. Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) talks Snart (Wentworth Miller) through a rough patch and Ray (Brandon Routh) learns something that could impact his future with Kendra (Ciara Renée).”
It looks like the time masters have found a new hunter to chase after the legends. However, is she the only one? In the video, it looks like the time masters are talking to a male but then shows the woman above. Could there be two new hunters they have assigned to their little problem? This woman goes after Sara and then officer Lance in the past but is stopped by a blast from likely the Atom. How will this hunter (or hunters) interfere with the teams mission of stopping Savage?
At the very end of the video, the CW teases a new toy that Ray Palmer has made. Ray tells Jefferson to back up… quite a bit. Which then goes to a shot of Jefferson looking up. We know that the Atom can become small… but now he has figured out a way to become large! How will the Atom use these new abilities in the fight against Savage? We look forward to watching the rest of this season on The CW Springfield.
