Surveillance camera shows car slamming into restaurant

the man walked away with minor injuries

NEWPORT, R.I. (WJAR) – NBC 10 News got a look inside of Mama Leone’s Pizzeria in Newport the moment a car crashed into the restaurant.

Surveillance video shows a car plow right through the front of the store on Saturday at around 1:30 a.m., leaving behind shattered glass and debris.

“This whole area was just in rubble,” said co-owner Paulina Reves. “It was awful.”

Surveillance footage shows the driver, 33-year-old James Bell, climb out through the passenger door with just minor injuries.

Reves said watching the video wasn’t easy.
